Marguerite Anita Bichsel's Obituary
Marguerite Anita Bichsel, 89, went to be with her Lord on August 21, 2014 at a Hospice Center in Largo, Florida.
Marge, as she was known by, was born on September 13, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Bernard and Anita Leimbach. She had two brothers, Bernie and Richard.
In her late teens the family moved to Cleveland, Ohio during WWII. As fate would have it hey moved next door to a family named Bichsel whose son, John, was serving in the Army overseas. They were introduced when John came home on leave and began dating. Marge became know to many as The Girl Next Door. Upon his discharge from the army they became engaged and were married on May 4th 1946.
She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland before and after she was married. In 1952 the family moved to Long Island, New York. In 1954 the last of the four children was born. Marge kept busy as a full time homemaker and a volunteer at church.
In 1962 Marge and family returned to the Cleveland. She re-entered the work force for a local dairy company in the computer department. She and John purchased a summer cottage in Andover, Ohio located a few miles from Lake Pymatumy. They spent time there on weekends, holidays and while on vacation. It served as their summer residence for many years. They had many visitors, especially those of their children and now their many grandchildren.
In 1982 they both retired having purchased a winter home in Dunedin, Florida. In 2001 Florida became their year round residence. Her husband, John, went to be with the Lord in March of 2013. They had been married for almost 67 years.
She is survived by her 4 children: Linda Khan, Marcia Rice, Jack Bichsel, and David Bichsel.
8 Grandchildren: Amer, Deborah, Chris, Tim, Sara, Stephen, Rebecca and Hannah. One Grandson, Ziad, passed away a few years ago. 7 Great Grandchildren: Zachary, Abigail, Berlin, Memphis, Alexander, Colton and Ava.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 13th at 11:00 am at:
