Marguerite A Combs' Obituary
Marguerite Amos Combs, 90, beloved mother and grandmother, of Clearwater, FL, passed away on January 11, 2016. She was born in 1925 in Harford County, MD, and resided in Maryland until 1964. She was the daughter of John Franklin Amos and Grace Loretta Main, both lifelong residents of Maryland, and stepdaughter of Minnie Amos, a lifelong resident of Maryland. In 1964, she and her now deceased husband, Leff J. Combs, relocated to Clearwater, FL, where she remained until her death. She leaves behind many family members and friends. She is survived by her sons Larry, Leff Jr., and Jesse; her daughters Carolyn and Rose; brothers Harold and Bob; sisters Barbara and Helen; grandchildren, in age order, Larry Jr., Brenda, Andy, Jesse Jr.(deceased), Christina, Laine, Kris, Stephanie, Lyndsey, and Logan; 19 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In Clearwater, Marguerite was a 20+ year employee of the former Maas Brothers department store. She was an active member in local chapters of the Eagles, VFW, American Legion, Moose, and AMVET, having served as local president and district president of the Eagles and local president of the VFW. She also volunteered in numerous charitable organizations, including the Clearwater Neighborly Senior Services Center. After retirement, she became a roving disc jockey, playing music for numerous seniors’ organizations and community functions. Marguerite’s children, grandchildren, and other family members loved her dearly. She was a kind, generous, and loving mother, grandmother, and person. She will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her. A visitation is scheduled for Saturday January 16 from 10:30 am till 12:30 pm with services to follow at Moss Feaster Funeral Home 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater, Marguerite will be interred at the Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater next to her deceased husband, Leff John Combs, Sr. A graveside service will be held following at 2:00 pm. www.mossfeasterclearwater.com
