Marianne Costlow's Obituary
Marianne Costlow, 77, of Safety Harbor, Florida died unexpectedly on December 7th, 2021. Her loss was sudden, and the family is deeply saddened. Her smile, presence, support, friendship, and love will be greatly missed.
Marianne was born on August 8th, 1944 to James and Dorothy Shaffer in New Castle, PA. After graduating from Laurel High School in 1962, she went on to study Chemistry at University of Pittsburg, where she was a collegiate swimmer, and earned her MBA from the University of Delaware.
Marianne began her family in Maryland while working for Merck as a Chemist. In 1986, Marianne moved to Clearwater and began her successful career as a real estate agent/broker. She prided herself at being thorough, professional, and building deep relationships and was known for her negotiating skills.
Later in life, Marianne loved being Ya Ya to her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Braden and Lyla play soccer and encouraging Lyla’s grace through dance. She took pride in planning and coordinating large meals, finished off by fresh squeezed margaritas from the margarita tree, to bring friends and family together. She was skilled at cooking, crocheting, painting, wreath and flower arrangements and treasured her time with Jayna supporting local craft and flea markets.
Marianne is survived by her husband, Lewis Watson; her brother, Rob Shaffer (Vickie); her two children, Alyssa and Jayna Costlow; her two stepchildren Lori Nichols and John Watson, and her 5 grandchildren, Owen, Allie, Braden, Lyla, and Wyatt.
A service will be held at Clearwater Beach on December 16th at 10:00 AM. Park in the parking lot at 7 Rockaway Street and meet at the beach in-front of Rockaway restaurant. Marianne was known to support many charities so in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA - https://www.aspca.org/) or the Diabetes Action Research and Education Foundation (https://diabetesaction.org/donate)
