COLLARD, MARIE P.
85, a Clearwater long-time resident passed away on September 25, 2014. She was born October 9, 1928 in Adams, NY. She moved to Clearwater from Omaha, NE in 1968 when her husband John retired from the U.S. Air Force. Marie was a member of Clearwater for Youth for 13 years and served on the Board of Directors for 11 years before retiring Emeritus in 1986. She was a member of the Retired Officers Association Auxillary and a charter member of the Air Force Village Foundation. Marie was a member of the Tuesday Sunshine Bowling Club, past President and member of the Clearwater 500 bowling club, a member of the Clearwater 500 Club Hall of Fame and a member of the Clearwater 600 bowling club. Before becoming a devoted housewife and mother, Marie worked as a telephone operator and at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY.
Marie was predeceased by her father, Cecil M. Patten of Adams, NY and mother, Eva M. Svendsen of St. Petersburg; her husband, John W. Collard Jr. of Clearwater; her sister Mildred Carter of Adams, NY; her sister Margaret “Pat” Hull of Adams, NY; her brother Stanley Patten of Fremont, CA; and her daughter Connie Schunke of Rodman, NY.
Marie is survived by her son Brian Collard (Shannon) of Dunedin, FL; granddaughter Brandy Gould of Bangor, ME; grandson Jason Gould of Watertown, NY; grandson Chance Collard of Dunedin, great-granddaughter Juliette Simmons of Bangor, ME; great-grandsons Chase Gould and Johnathan Gould of Adams, NY; and great-granddaughter Sauquoia Gould of Adams, NY.
A visitation will take place at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 South Belcher Rd. Clearwater, on Friday October 3 from 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 South Belcher Rd. Clearwater, on Saturday October 4 at 11am.
