Martha Ann Buis' Obituary
On February 12, 2024, at 5:59pm Heaven got the most amazing angel, Martha Buis. She was surrounded by love, laughter and tears in her last few days as she was throughout her life. Martha had many nicknames throughout her life, Mort, mom, grandma, GG, Aunt Markie and MarthaAnn. She and her husband, Luther, of nearly 60 years built a legacy family that will last for a very long time. Martha was preceded in death by her husband Luther, sisters Katherine Hall, Vicky Smith and Ella Riley, brother Joe Crews, parents Vadie and Mattie Crews. Martha leaves behind five children son Rick Buis and daughter in law Debbie Buis, Butch Buis and daughter in law Laurie Roberts, Tina Shaw, John Buis and daughter in law Angela Buis, Amy Charles and son in law JC Charles. She leaves 13 grandchildren Logan Von Hoene, Garrett Buis and granddaughter in law Misty Buis, Michael Buis and granddaughter in law Aly Buis, Shawn Buis and granddaughter in law Tomasa Buis, Steven Buis and granddaughter in law Brittany Buis, Nicholas Stavros and granddaughter in law to be Tiffany St.Lifer, Tanner Buis and granddaughter in law Anna Buis, Justin Buis and granddaughter in law Carli Buis, Dalton Shaw and granddaughter in law to be Samantha Demircioglu, Rossiter Hawkins, James Buis, Trey Buis and Jocelyn Charles. 17 Great grandchildren Tanner Von Hoene, Cayden McGoron, Griffen Von Hoene, Greta Von Hoene, Mason Buis, Bailey Buis, Ellie Buis, Evelyn Buis, Hagan Buis, Jack Buis, Dean Buis, Finn Buis, Rowan Stavros, Payton Buis, Daisy Buis, Jax Buis and Cora Buis.
Words cannot describe who Martha was, she was a feeling. Being a part of her was a blessing. She loved her family fiercely. Her kids, grands and great grands were her life. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her babies. From Christmas breakfast to spontaneous dinners, being around her family brought her happiness. Her passing has left a hole in the hearts of everyone who she loved. Although those who loved her most are grieving her loss, we take comfort in knowing she is back in the arms of her beloved husband and surrounded by her sisters. Our family is overwhelmed with sadness at losing our precious mom but know she is still protecting us and watching us from heaven.
In lieu of flowers we are requesting donations to the American Cancer Society. A celebration of life will be on March 2, 2024, at 10:00am. Location: Moss Feaster Funeral Home 1320 Main Street, Dunedin, FL. The Buis family would love to share our celebration with all who knew our precious mom and hear memories of her from others. Following the service please join the family for lunch and sharing memories at Amy Buis Charles's house, 5116 Kernwood Ct, Palm Harbor.
