Martha Blanche McNair's Obituary
Martha was a home grown girl and proud of it! She was born at Morton Plant Hospital, attended Belleair Grade School and graduated from Clearwater High School in 1949.
As a child - Martha loved baseball.... she always said her Mom would know where to find her and that was on the ball field playing with her friends known as the Belmont Kids - As a young lady, she played on a softball team and this is where she met the love of her life and best friend, Dekle.
While in high school, she went to work for 1st National Bank of Clearwater and made it a career of 45 years. She loved her job - she loved the many friends she made and kept over the years.
Martha and Dekle married in June of 1951 and started a family a few years later, having a daughter and a son. Nothing was more important to her than her family. She was so proud of her children, Debra & Dan. She was the best Granny and was so loved by her grandchildren, Steven, Dalton, Devon & Darrah and great grandchildren, Dalton, Samantha and Destiny. She was Big sister to Joanne and she loved her and her husband Bob. Aunt Martha adored her niece/nephew Sharon and Rick, Vickie and Bob and their family. Her son in law, Jeff could make her laugh like no other especially when he called her Cotton Top.
Her friends were her family as well - many she has known since those days at Belleair Grade School. Martha would drop everything to be there for others.
Martha was a fabulous cook and was always asked to make her pound cake. For those that knew her best - knew how delicious it would be however she would always state "I don't know if it will be fit to eat".
Martha loved to fresh water fish - She and Dekle would have fish frys and invite everyone over. Mom would make her famous baked beans.
Martha simply loved life! and loved to have fun.... from marathon shopping sprees to yearly trips to the Smokey Mountains, to cheering on her favorite baseball team - The Tampa Bay Rays.
Martha will be remembered for her smile that would light up a room - for her generous and caring ways.
Please join us in celebrating her life - share your stories and remember she would want you to be happy.
Directly after the service - you are invited to an open house at the home she and Dekle built 60 years ago.
Martha loved flowers and always wanted to help others - a charity of your choice or flowers is fine - Martha would ask that you follow your heart and the decision be yours.
Martha, Bless your heart!!! You are so loved by so many.
