Martha E. Meo's Obituary
MARTHA EILEEN MEO – Born June 24, 1940 – Died June 7, 2026
Martha “Maggie” Meo was the true matriarch of her family — strong, loving, and endlessly devoted. For 58 years, she and her husband, Joseph Meo, shared a remarkable life together, defined by loyalty, partnership, and a deep, steady love that became the foundation of their home.
She was cherished not only as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great‑grandmother, but as a woman whose presence made people feel welcomed, supported, and loved. Maggie had a rare strength — the kind that held families together, lifted others in their hardest moments, and created a sense of belonging wherever she went.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Joseph Meo, and by her children: David Meo; Claude Miles and daughter‑in‑law Christine Keelean; Wendy Lisey‑Meo and son‑in‑law John Lisey; and Gina Meo. She is also survived by her brother‑in‑law Fred Wight and her niece Dorthea Damaseceno. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph Christopher Meo, with whom she is now reunited in peace.
She leaves behind her grandchildren — Ryan Meo and his wife Amber Meo; Chris Meo; and Claude Miles Jr. and his wife Melissa Miles — as well as six great‑grandchildren who brought her endless joy: Cris Meo, Sofia Meo, Shiloh Meo, Charlie Meo, Marlin Miles, and Waylin Miles.
Maggie was also preceded in death by her father Francis Jimenez, her mother Rosemary Jimenez, her sister Dorothy Lee Wight, and her niece Cheryl Myer.
And while these names represent the core of her family, Maggie’s love extended far beyond what can be listed here. She leaves behind a large and cherished extended family — too many to name individually — each of whom held a special place in her heart. She also treasured her many friends, who were as important to her as family and who felt her warmth, humor, and unwavering loyalty throughout her life.
Her generosity, strength, and wisdom touched everyone who knew her. She was loved by many, not because of what she did, but because of who she was: steady, compassionate, and full of heart. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she shaped, the traditions she built, and the love she poured into her family across generations.
We will feel her absence deeply. The family she leaves behind — and the many relatives and friends whose lives she touched — will carry her memory with both sorrow and gratitude. Though she is no longer here to guide, laugh with, or hold close, the impact of her love will continue to shape their lives. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered with the deepest affection by all who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Martha “Maggie” Meo. Supporting a cause dedicated to helping children and families in their hardest moments is a meaningful way to honor her generous spirit and the love she carried for others throughout her life.
