Marty Vachon's Obituary
On October 2, 2016, Robert M. (Marty) Vachon passed away suddenly at his home in Clearwater Fl.
Born June 9, 1955 in Watertown New York, he was the son of Shirley and the late Robert Vachon. After graduating from LaFargeville Central School, he moved to Florida where he started his career in the food industry. After moving back to the north country, he was employed at the Thousand Island Club, Wellesley Island, The Carraige House Restaurant, Watertown, and later, he and his wife Jayne became owner/operators of the 1812 Steak and Seafood Restaurant, Sackets Harbor, NY. In 2004 they returned to the Clearwater area where he worked at the Sheraton Resort and Conference Center on Clearwater Beach until the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years and love of his life, Jayne (Fitzgerald) Vachon, sons Marcus (Erica) Vachon, Lafargeville, NY, Adam Vachon, Clearwater Fl., Step son Gregg (Melissa) Netto, Chaumont, and daughter Amanda Amedeo, Cortland, his pride and joy.
Also surviving are his mother, Shirley Vachon and her fiancé, Les McWethy, Mesa Az., three sisters, Paulette (Steve) Christenson, Mesa, Az., Nicole (Peter) Hills, Mesa Az., and Tanice (Mark) Gebo, Watertown, NY, Six grand children, Myles and Ethyn Vachon, LaFargeville, Benjamin Vachon, Clearwater, and Cole, Maddie, and Sam Amedeo, Cortland, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by his father, Robert E. Vachon, and niece, Tina Tubolino.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4 pm to 5 pm on Friday, October 7th at Moss Feaster Funeral Home in Dunedin, Florida followed by a memorial service beginning at 5 pm.
