Marvin G Sowinski's Obituary
Marvin G. Sowinski was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1927. He moved to Clearwater, Fl in 1974 from Worthington, Oh through a job transfer. He worked for Continental Can Company for 34 years as a Manager and retired. Marvin served in World War II as a Merchant Marine and was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He fought with the First Marine Division in the Chosin Reservoir Campaign. He served as a trustee and life member of the Marine League. He was a member of the Chosin Few Association, First Marine Division Association, UFU Ft. Harrison Post, and the Honor Military Order of Devil Dogs He was a long time member of Light of Christ Catholic Church. Marvin is survived by his wife Ruth of 64 years, his three children, Nancy Ratcliff, Keith and Michael Sowinski, his four grandchildren, Brent, Kelly, Kaylyn, David and his great-grandson Kai Core. In addition, he is survived by his son-in-law Roger Ratcliff, daughter-in-law Caryn Sowinski and future daughter-in-law Carrie Allen. Marvin was a world traveler, volunteered at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital, and for 20 years volunteered at Toys for Tots. Internment, Bushnell Military Cemetery.
