Mary Margaret Borland's Obituary
Mary Margaret Borland, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Predeceased by her parents, Helen and Edward Shine, brothers Edward Shine, Thomas Shine, and sister Patricia Mahoney, she is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Borland, children, Robert Borland, Jr., Michael Borland, Patricia Borland, Kathleen (Robert) Fisher, Elizabeth (Daniel) Winter and brother William Turnbull.
Her ultimate pride and joy was her family, especially her seven grandchildren: Oliver Borland, Ryan Fisher, Jacob Fisher, Collin Ladd, Sean Ladd, Camaryn Winter, and Danielle Winter.
Mary lived her life fearlessly. From an early age, her fierceness, determination, and kindness set the stage for a lifetime of wins. Mary was an all-star softball player and the first female drummer in the Levittown Memorial High School band in Levittown, N.Y. Deeply creative, she instilled the importance of art and music into her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, and eventually curated an interior design business. In the final years of her professional career, Mary served as a homemaker for those in need.
Lighting up any room with her infectious spirit and beautiful smile, Mary was always up for a Mets or Rays game to watch, a puzzle to solve, and a good game of rummy.
Mary was one of a kind. The epitome of strength, her legacy will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin, Florida on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 1:30 P.M. Interment will take place at Bay Pines National Cemetery on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 1:30 P.M.
