Mary M. Curtas' Obituary
Mary Margaret Fetters Curtas, 89, died Monday afternoon, August 23, from complications after hip surgery at Florida Waterman Hospital, Tavares, FLMary was born and raised in Archbold, Ohio, graduated from Archbold High School and completed her education with her Registered Nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio. She met her future husband, Paul, on leave from WW II Army service, while working at Mercy Hospital They raised 7 children in Fayette, Ohio and Dunedin, FL. When Paul became disabled with illness Mary renewed her nursing work choosing Hunter Blood Bank to finish out her career. On the weekend of her 74th birthday, she retired from work, went skydiving and completed the celebration with a day riding roller coasters at Bush Gardens, Florida.After Paul's death Mary moved near her oldest son in Tavares, FL. In her over 10 years there she continued to visit and correspond with her many family members and friends, near and far.Along with her husband Paul, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Coletta Fetters, her sister, Josephine Leach and her grandson, Justin Curtas.Mary will be missed and her life celebrated by 7 children, 6 grand children and 2 great-grandchildren.Visitation (2-4 p.m.) and a memorial service (4 p.m.) will be held at Moss-Feaster, Dunedin, Friday, Aug 27.
