Mary Lee Holder's Obituary
Mary Lee Holder, of Pinellas County, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 2nd, at 91 years of age.
Mary was born in Collington, Maryland, where she was raised on a race horse farm and part of a large Catholic family. She spent her youth and working years in the Washington DC area, where she was employed at C&P Telephone and made a career of 37 years with the company. She started as an operator and rose to middle management in the area of network administration. She raised four children, was active in her church community, and spent free time with close friends and family. She was a true Marylander, loving the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding rivers, where she participated in crabbing, and then cooking and feasting on them summer after summer. She also loved a garden and could be found pickling and canning fresh vegetables and caring for her flowers during the summer months. She enjoyed dancing, modeling, music and she was a master at organization and cleanliness!
She moved to Florida when she retired and lived on the east coast, where she was active in her retirement community and President of the Women's Association. After 10 years on the east coast, she moved to the Clearwater area to be near her daughters. She enjoyed water aerobics, Bunco, family gatherings and began a pig collection, which she proudly showcased in her home Nothing pleased her more than to have her family near her.
She is survived by her four children: Pat Heins, Tom Harvey, Robin Zack and Kim Hoyt; seven grandchildren: Dawn Jenets, Lee Farr, Wes Graham, Jodi Harvey, Colin and Owen Zack and Patti Harrill and her six great grandchildren: Chris Berbert, Victoria Jenets, Claire Jenets, Unity Graham and Brady and Zack Farr She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Paul Holder, and all of her very dear sisters and brothers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Suncoast Hospice Care Center, North Pinellas, 164 West Lake Rd., Palm Harbor, FL 34684.
