Mary Petikas' Obituary
PETIKAS, Mary, 93 was born on September 29, 1924 in Manhattan , New York to parents Dikeo Alexandro and Nicholetta Kares Alexandro. She moved to Belleair Beach, Florida with her husband and family from Glen Cove New York in 1987.
Mary was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Daughters of Penelope. She had fond memories of working for Avon when she was single. Mary enjoyed playing cards and mahjong, and spending time with her family and friends.
Mary passed away peacefully on February 26, 2018 at the age of 93. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Constantine Petikas ; father , Dikeo Alexandro and mother Nicholetta Kares Alexandro ; brothers, George Alexander, James Alexander, and Peter Alexander ; Daughter in law, Theresa Petikas. Survivors include sons, Michael Petikas (Vasilia Petikas), Theodore Petikas (Thanie Petikas), George Petikas (Marie Petikas) ; daughter, Niki M Petikas – Gelep (Paul A. Gelep) ; grandchildren, Deane, Nicholas, Jenna (Ray Berrios), Michael, Alexander, Maryanna (Devin LaFerriere), Maria, Dean, Glen, Constantina, Lucas, James ; great grandchildren; Pieper, and Penelope and many nieces and nephews. Mary was a link in the family chain that showed strength, wisdom and comfort. She will be missed by all who knew her. A visitation is scheduled for Monday March 5th from 4 to 7 pm with a Trisagion at 5 pm. A church service is planned for Tuesday March 6th at 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox church with internment to follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial park. The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make donations to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
