Mary E Powers' Obituary
Mary E. Powers passed away at home on February 2, 2026. She was 94 years old. She was born in Buffalo, New York and moved to Florida in 1974. She and her husband and son resided in Lakeland, Florida for many years. She and her husband moved to their home in Oldsmar where she resided until her passing. She was a department manager for J.C. Penney’s for many years. She also worked in the jewelry department of which many in her family benefited from her discounts. She enjoyed playing Bingo and could always be found playing many cards at the same time. She enjoyed spoiling her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Norman and Clara Barnett, her husband Richard M. Powers and her son-in-law Fred Pawlak, her sisters June Tanner and Bonnie Barnett. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Pawlak, her son Dean Powers and his wife Lynn, whom she referred to as her second daughter. She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren Rick (Lindsey), Eric (Sara), Shannon (Phil) and her greatgrandchildren Nick and Victoria. The family would like to acknowledge those that loved her as their own and who held a very special place in her heart. Per her request there will be no services. She will be interred at Bushnell Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date.
