Mary Ann Vick's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Ann Vick announces her sudden passing on Friday, July 31, 2020, at the age of 75 years.
Beloved daughter of Florence (Hlabse) and Walter Borcuch (both deceased), Mary Ann was born on July 21, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio.
She, her husband, and two children moved down to Florida in 1972, leaving behind cold Ohio weather.
She would do anything to put a smile on anyone’s face. Mary Ann loved the beach, gardening, and animals. She enjoyed memorizing the numerous dogs’ names that she encountered on her thousands of walks in her neighborhood. She was also a caretaker for her ex-husband, Kenneth J. Mader, and her mother at the end of their lives.
She retired from the City of Clearwater Water Department in 2007.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Hlabse.
Mary Ann is survived by her other two siblings, Vicky Cechowski and Carol Offak. She is also survived by her two daughters, Karen Ratajczyk (husband Keith Ratajczyk) and Tina Melczarek (husband Nick Melczarek) and three grandchildren Ryan and Lauren Ratajczyk, and Alexei Melczarek. She is also survived by her friend and former longtime partner, Ron Lee.
Contributions in her name may be made in lieu of flowers etc to the Humane Society of Pinellas County.
