Maryellen Gallagher's Obituary
Maryellen (Meg) Gallagher, 68, of Clearwater, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 10, 2018. God now has the most amazingly beautiful, funny angel by his side.
Meg Gallagher was born in Washington, D.C., to the late Walter and Jane Wall, and grew up in Arlington, VA, and Greenlawn, NY. Meg is survived by her loving wife of 13 years, Mary Ann Marszalek, of Clearwater, FL, her daughter, Kristin Gallagher, of Anna Maria Island, FL, along with her grandsons, Jacob Marshall, of Inverness, FL, and Michael Larry, of Bradenton, FL, and her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Nichole Gallagher, of Chattanooga, TN, with her grandsons Christopher Gallagher, U.S. Navy, Pearl Harbor, HI, and Sky Gallagher, of Chattanooga, TN, her loving sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Robert Johnson, with their five children, and one grandchild, of East Northport, NY, and niece and great-niece, Stephanie Marszalek-Rogers, and Aubrey Rogers, of San Antonio, TX.
Meg's warm, approachable, and caring manner naturally led to a career of service to the community. An RN for 35 years, Meg's career included managing a mental health ward, holding two positions as Director of Nursing, and becoming a highly respected Hospice Nurse for Pinellas County, FL. Her kind nature, infectious laugh, and years of nursing experience helped many more people than we will ever know. Meg loved spending time on the water, music, and all animals, (especially Brownie, her special rescue dog). Meg also believed in the power of prayer, praying daily for love and peace in the world. We were so fortunate to have had Meg in our lives, and we are now blessed to have a very special angel, watching us from above.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
-Irish Proverb
Memorial services will be held at Chapel-By-the-Sea, on Clearwater Beach, FL, on Saturday, June 30th, at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, donations in Meg's name to the Suncoast Animal League of Palm Harbor, are welcome.
