Matthew James Suiters' Obituary
Matthew “Suit” James Suiters
July 7, 1986 - February 8, 2025
With heavy hearts and a few fishing stories left untold, on February 8, 2025, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Matthew “Suit” James Suiters. Born on July 7, 1986, in Dunedin, Florida, Matthew lived a life full of laughter, adventure, and an unwavering love for the water.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Lori Miller-Suiters; his father, John Suiters; his mother-in-law, Shirley Watson; his brother-in-law, Timothy Miller; his sister, Crystal David, and her husband, Michael; and his cherished nieces, Novalie and Taylor. He also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends who will forever hold his memory close.
Matthew was welcomed into heaven by his mother, Peggy Suiters; his brother-in-law, Ronnie Miller; his maternal grandparents, James and Marge Zimmerman; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Doris Suiters; and his faithful fishing companion, his beloved dog, Hershey.
If Matthew wasn’t out on the ocean with a fishing rod in hand, he was probably talking about the one that got away. He found his peace on the water, where the worries of the world faded with the waves. When he wasn’t chasing the next big catch, he was passionately cheering on all things Tampa sports—whether it was the Bucs, the Lightning, or the Rays, he was always ready to celebrate (or commiserate) with his fellow fans.
Matthew’s sense of humor, kindness, and love for his family will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in every sunset over the ocean, every game-day celebration, and every laugh shared in his honor.
A celebration of life will be held at Fred Howard Park (Shelter 9) in Tarpon Springs, Florida on Sunday February 16, 2025 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Matthew’s memory by spending a day on the water, raising a toast to his favorite teams, or simply sharing a good joke—he would have loved that.
