Michael Hoyt Blake's Obituary
Michael Hoyt Blake passed away unexpectedly on December 16, 2020 at age 60. He was born in Lebanon, New Hampshire on April 23, 1960. He attended Castleton University in Vermont and studied computer engineering. In March of 1986, Michael met the love of his life and three short months later they married, a love story they knew would be forever. He is survived by his wife Lauri Ann Blake of 34 years from Port St. Lucie Florida; his daughter Sarah Dawn Mulder and her husband Hiddo Mulder of Pompano Beach; sons Kruce Michael Blake and his wife Kayla Blake of Concord, Massachusetts and Jacob Michael Blake of Port St. Lucie, Florida; mother Brenda H. (Blake) Maskell of Brattleboro, Vermont; brothers Jackson Kidder and his wife Carolyn Kidder of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mark Wayne Blake and his wife Kelly Blake of Hockessin, Delaware, sister Megan Maskell of Brattleboro, Vermont; and step brothers Jeffrey and Steven Robinson of Brattleboro, Vermont. He is predeceased by his father Wayne Blake (who recently passed) and his wife Barbara Blake of Brattleboro, Vermont.
Michael's greatest pride came from being a husband and father. His greatest joys were his wife and children. Mike was a loyal, self-less, hard-working man who often held multiple jobs to provide for his family. He was a skilled carpenter and roofer with an incredible work ethic.
He had a magnetic larger-than-life personality and knew how to lighten up any situation. He would strike up a conversation with anyone around him, including strangers. He always had a smile on his face that left everyone around him with a smile, as well.
Mike's fondest memories were of building the hunting camp in Bradford, Vermont with his dad when he was younger and the countless years hunting there with his beloved Father. He also loved fishing, skiing, playing pool, classic rock, horseshoes and weekly games of poker around the table. He was a pool shark! He loved all sports and was a diehard Boston Redsox, Boston Bruins and FSU fan. Mike's spirit will forever be with us.
Just you and I

And I know in time
We’ll build the dreams we treasure
We’ll be all right just you and I
