Michael Dane Tygrett's Obituary
Michael Dane Tygrett, aged 38, unexpectedly passed away at his home on June 24th. Born and raised in the South, Michael, known to many as Chef Mike, nurtured a profound passion for food from a young age. His culinary journey began in high school, and he pursued his love for cooking at Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colorado, where he graduated with distinction.
Following graduation, Michael embarked on a vibrant career in the culinary arts, honing his skills in a variety of esteemed restaurants and resorts across the country. His dedication and talent earned him respect among peers and patrons alike. Recently, Michael returned to Tampa to be close to his brother Nick Dashko.
Beyond his culinary prowess, Michael had a vibrant personality and a zest for life. He had a unique fondness for kimchi, pretzels with mustard, gummy bears, and local honey, reflecting his eclectic tastes. An avid collector of handmade knives and a lover of tattoos, he was also known for unconventional joys such as walking his adopted cat MISEN on a leash and exploring farmers' markets.
Those who knew Michael remember him as a creative soul, a kind spirit, and a determined fighter in life's challenges. His untimely departure leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the culinary community.
Despite life's complexities and challenges, Michael was remembered for his sweet soul and his resilient spirit. He faced battles with addiction bravely, leaving an indelible mark of courage and perseverance on those who knew him.
In honoring Michael's memory, his loved ones find solace in the fond memories of his culinary delights, his infectious laughter, and his adventurous spirit. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
