Nancee Cyril Slattery's Obituary
Nancee Cyril (McBroom) Slattery, born August 8, 1932 in Des Plaines, Illinois, has been welcomed peacefully by the Lord into Heaven. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed, her sons Edward and Steven, and daughter-in-law, Donna. Nancee was married to the love of her life, Edward J. Slattery Jr., for 72 years and resided in Washington D.C. and later in Belleair, FL. Known for their great love and generosity, Ed and Nancee embraced their family of nine children and an ever-increasing extended family. Nancee was regarded as a great mother by her nine children, their many friends and relatives who needed motherly love and counsel, and all who knew her. She was known for her selflessness, wit, wisdom, honesty, integrity, intelligence, humility, beauty and most of all, love. Nancee was a dedicated Sodality member, active in church and school activities, an avid competitive tennis player and promoter, and enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles, and Jeopardy. Adored and survived by seven children: Matthew, Daniel (Sheila), Terry Sullivan (James), Melanie Bautel, Nancee Laursen (William), James (Donna), Christopher (Keli), 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Nancee will forever be in our hearts. Services will be planned for a later date.
