Nancy L Wilke's Obituary
Nancy Lee Wilke 77, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2018.
"Nancy Girl" as she was affectionately called was a resident of Clearwater, Florida and a member of and deacon at Crystal Beach Community Church since 2001. Nancy was a well known floral designer and for several years ran her own business with her partner, Tina Swagger.
In recent years, along with her husband Tom, she ran successful venture re-finishing and painting antique and mid-century furniture. When Tom decided to retire, her sister Barb (with whom she enjoyed a special relationship) came on board and they quickly became known as "The Picker Sisters" specializing in buying and selling architectural salvage items. Nancy loved to read and travel.
She was a true Francophile, loving all things French, especially Paris. She lived in Orleans, France for three years during the 60's and in recent years along with her husband, made a a return visit. Being and "Army Brat," she lovingly embraced that somewhat nomadic lifestyle. Go Army! Besides France, she also lived in Japan and had visited almost every state in the union.
Her upbringing and early years were the quintessential 1950's "Leave it to Beaver" way of life. She passionately loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, and the truest of friends. Nancy was born in Champaign, Illinois on August 12, 1941.
She was preceded in death by her father Colonel Bill E Snider, US Army, retired and her mother Evelyn F Snider. She is survived by her loving husband Tom, her daughters Kelly Draicchio and Cheri Manning; her sister Barb Spong, son-in-law Chris, brother-in-law Rich, and five grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service on November 10th at Crystal Beach Community Church at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Moffitt Cancer Center.
