Nikki G. Kamkutis' Obituary
Nikki G. Kamkutis, 93, of Clearwater, FL passed away Monday, November 21, 2022 at home with her family beside her. She was born in Cleveland, OH, July 30, 1929 to Emmanuel and Crystal (Hoty) Glynias. Nikki was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Clearwater. Besides her parents, Nikki is preceded in death by her husband Christ J. Kamkutis in 1996; her siblings, Mary and her husband, Nick, Joe and his wife Fife, and Pete and his wife Marilyn. Nikki is survived by her 3 children, Betty C., Manuel C, John C. and grand-pup Apollo.
Nikki moved to Clearwater in 1983 with her family, owned and operated Coastal Liquors, Dunedin until 1989, retired with her husband and continued volunteering and fundraising with many churches and philanthropic organizations.
Faith, Family and Friendship was her motto in life. Nikki loved everyone unconditionally and was a selfless loving, Daughter, Wife, Mother, Godmother, Aunt, Friend and Mentor to many. Affectionately known as "Mama K", she was respected by all who knew and loved her and will be deeply missed. Nikki fulfilled every promise, never disappointing anyone!
She lived by the words of St. Paul, 1 Corinthians: Love is patient, Love is kind, Love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude, it does not insist on it's own way. Nikki fought a very long and hard battle with cancer, but was never afraid. She lived through her Orthodox Christian faith: Psalm 23-4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou are with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Visitation will be at the funeral home, Monday, November 28, 6:00PM-8:00PM with the Trisagion Service at 7:00PM. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 29, 11:00AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 409 S. Old Coachman Rd, Clearwater, FL 33765.
