Norman J. Ferenz's Obituary
Norman John Charles Ferenz, 82, passed away on August 19, 2025, in Oldsmar, Florida. Born on December 10, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, Norm lived a life marked by service, entrepreneurship, and an infectious zest for family and friendships that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A graduate of the University of Ohio, Norm began his professional journey in the automotive industry. Over the course of five decades, he evolved from a dedicated sales professional into a visionary entrepreneur. He founded several successful automotive aftermarket companies, demonstrating both business acumen and an unrelenting drive to innovate. After relocating to Florida, Norm formed a close partnership with Jerry Davis—his business partner and best friend—and together they built Norman & Company into a thriving enterprise.
Norm also served his country with distinction as a Captain in the 101st Army Airborne Rangers. His military service was a source of great pride throughout his life and reflected his deep sense of patriotism and leadership.
Faith played an important role in Norm’s life. He was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church in Clearwater, Florida, where he served as treasurer of the Knights of Columbus. His commitment to the Church extended beyond his local parish; due to his support and dedication of the Pontifical North American College, he was honored as a 2025 recipient of the Umilta Award—a recognition that brought him immense joy and pride.
Those who knew Norm will remember him for his boundless energy and unmistakable charisma. He often introduced himself with flair: “Norman John Charles Ferenz and I am fabulous!” That declaration captured his spirit perfectly—he loved life more than most people and shared that love freely through his smile, generosity, and laughter.
Norm is survived by his beloved wife Darlene; daughters Jennifer Holcomb (Scott) and Katherine Ferenz; step-daughters Tiffany Davis and Krystal Ginzl (Kyle); grandchildren: Nathaniel, Madeline, Lindsey, Jack, Evan, and Pierson; sister Patricia Bucary; brother Jeffrey Alan Ferenz (Christina).
He was preceded in death by his father Norman J. Ferenz Sr., mother Anna Schmidt Ferenz, first wife Judy Griffith, and eldest daughter Stacey Ann.
A Funeral Mass will be held on September 19, 2025, from 11:00am at All Saints Catholic Church 2801 Curlew Road, Clearwater, FL 33761. Immediately after the service an interment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 5233 118th Avenue N, Clearwater, FL 33760.
