Patricia Antalek-Valentino's Obituary
Patricia Antalek-Valentino, 72, of Clearwater, FL went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Patricia was born on January 19, 1944 to Richard and Ruth (McCarthy) Rose in Petersburg, VA and grew up in Friendship, Wellsville and Belmont, NY.
Patricia is a graduate of Albany Business College and worked in education as a secretary for many years in the Capital District of NY. While living there, she met and married her first husband Robert F. Antalek who passed away in 1994. Together they made their home in the Albany/Schenectady area where they raised their family together. Patricia remarried in 1997 and moved to Clearwater, FL with her second husband, Antonio Valentino.
Patricia always had a place in her heart for others. She often invited friends for meals and parties and never turned her children’s friends away. She loved to see her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews having fun and succeeding in their lives. In her years in Florida, Patricia developed a love for cruises. She and Antonio sometimes took multiple cruises each year to various ports of call in the Eastern and Western Caribbean. She enjoyed this pastime, even up to her last cruise, just a couple of weeks before her passing.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 18 years, Antonio Valentino, her son and daughter in-law, Robert and Susan Antalek of Ferndale, WA and her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Paul Jesionowski of Galway, NY. She had 4 grandchildren (Connor, Catelyn, Marek and Daniel) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her step mother June Rose and her brother David Rose, both of Rochester, NY. Patricia is pre-deceased by her first husband, Robert F. Antalek and her both of her parents.
Patricia will be laid to rest next to Robert F. Antalek at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY in the coming weeks. While we understand that many of Patricia’s family and friends would like to join the family in celebrating her life, we are honoring her wishes to hold a small gathering of her children and families and her husband in a graveside service.
