Patricia A. Gable's Obituary
Patricia A. Gable (1943-2011)Patricia Anne Gable, 68, of Palm Harbor, Florida, died suddenly November 6, 2011, following a long illness. She was retired after more than 25 years as a Registered Nurse first in her home state of New York, then in Countryside Florida where she relocated in 1981. Pat is survived by her husband of 49 years, Wayne; their three children, Lori (Deb Stoetzel); Steven (Elaine) and Lisa Ridgley (Michael); five grandchildren (Brandan, Mitchell, Grace, Payton and Theo); her brother Bernie Doran (Patricia) of Greece, New York; her sister Linda Buck of Waterloo, New York; her brothers and sisters- in -law in New York, George and Betty Gable of Waterloo, Walter Gable of Seneca Falls and Dallis and Marian Gable of Romulus, and several nieces and nephews. Pat earned her nursing degree at Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, New York. She went on to continue her coursework at the University of Tampa. She began her nursing career at Willard State Psychiatric Center. When the Gable family moved to Florida after selling the farm in 1981, Pat took a nursing position at Mease Hospital, Clearwater Community Hospital and then held posts in home health care where she worked until her retirement in 1998. Pat loved horseback riding and participated in several horse shows in upstate New York. She enjoyed belonging to a bowling league with Wayne and good friends. Later as many friends began migrating to Florida, the group continued to meet every week now to enjoy a new sport, the racetrack. Pat's favorite pastime though was traveling. She and Wayne loved to take to the road, sky, or water for a trip as often as they could, with Las Vegas a favorite destination. Pat was a member of the Red Hat Society and she was also an avid reader. There will be a gathering of friends and family at Moss Feaster Funeral home in Dunedin, from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, November 10.
