Patricia Louise Nick's Obituary
Early Saturday, December 21st, our living angel, Patricia Louise Nick, peacefully went up to heaven surrounded by her loved ones. "Patty Lou" was a once in a lifetime kind of person that made every person she met feel like they mattered. She was everyone’s “mom” & “nana” and wore that badge very proudly. Patty devoted her entire life to her beloved family and the love of her life of 41 years (Gus Nick). Their love stood the test of time. They found the true definition of life in a way most can only dream of. Her whole life was centered around her 2 daughters/soulmates, 2 son-in-laws/best friends, and 3 grand babies. She fought for a year to be alive to see her oldest grandson -who she played pivotal role in raising- graduate from high school, her kindred spirit/namesake granddaughter turn 4, and to be there for the birth of her youngest grandson who she was determined to meet.
Patty was a devout Catholic who leaned heavily into her faith every step of the way and was always seen attending the children’s mass at Our Lady of Lourdes and waiving (and sneaking tic-tacs) to all her favorite kids.
She was the light of so many lives & she will live on through all of us when we see a bright sunset, spot a butterfly, are wearing a cute leopard outfit, eating some crabs, dancing like no one is watching, or have a michelob ultra in hand. She will always be the angel around us.
Patricia Louise O’Meara Nick is survived by her husband; Gus Nick; 2 daughters, Angelina Nick-Katona and Lisa DeWild; 2 son in laws, Ken Katona and Chad DeWild; 3 grandchildren, Anthony Nick, Delilah DeWild, and Jett DeWild; 5 siblings, Linda O’Meara, Sharon O’Meara, Harry (Chuck) O’Meara, Saundra O’Meara, and John O’Meara; sister in law, Barbara Balestrino; brother in law, Robert Nick; aunt in law, Mary Bundy; and her best friend in the whole world, Alicia Burton; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews who all meant the world to her .
A Mass and Celebration of Life is being planned. Details to follow.
In lieu of flowers please donate to one of the following in honor of Patty’s love for the Catholic school at Our Lady of Lourdes or her favorite priest, Father Gary’s Church St. Peter the Apostle.
