Patrick Guilfoile's Obituary
Patrick Guilfoile - April 22, 1946-August 18, 2022
Patrick Guilfoile died peacefully at his home surrounded by loving family following a long health battle.
Patrick leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Claudette (Bombassi), daughters Heather (Pete) and Rae-Ellyn. He also leaves behind his pride and joy, his two granddaughters, Lindsey and Lacey McNeave. His brother Joe and sister in law Faye. He also has several nieces, nephews and cousins. And the best dog he ever had, Billy.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Eleanor Guilfoile, his sister, Eleanor Rose, and his two brothers Timothy and Douglas Guilfoile.
Patrick lived a full life and the center of his world was his family. He and Claudette met at a high school dance in Waterbury, CT and married each other five years later. They started their marriage in the Netherlands where he was stationed during the Vietnam war while in the Air Force. They spent a year or so exploring Europe before welcoming their first born daughter, Heather to the family.
After returning to Connecticut, Patrick began his apprenticeship in metallurgy and began his career.
He and his family moved to Florida to begin a new life. They settled down and soon welcomed a second daughter, Rae-Ellyn.
They bought a home that would be their forever home. Patrick would remodel the house and make it amazing for his family.
Patrick and Claudette welcomed their first granddaughter, Lindsey. Born on the same day as he. Three years later they welcomed their second granddaughter, Lacey. Patrick and Claudette were active grandparents, known as Poppo and Mommo. They could be seen at plays, softball games, or dance recitals for their girls. They had dinner with their family several days a week. That dinner table was filled with love and laughter for years.
Patrick will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving family man with a mischievous sense of humor.
