Paul Blackburn was a great yet humble man. Anything he got involved with; he was adamantly dedicated to do his best for that cause. He was one of the first to do a Grand Masters Class; to be Initiated an Entered Apprentice, Passed to the degree of Fellow Craft, and raised to the degree of Master Mason, all in a single day. Although he took a short cut to become a member in the world's oldest and largest fraternity, Freemasonry, his devotion to its principals and precepts were blatantly obvious. Brother Blackburn wasted no time in learning the Work, Ritual, Lectures, and at a near record pace was elected Worshipful Master of his Lodge. He was elected Worshipful Master three years in a row; 2006, 2007, and 2008. He was my mentor and I was elected Worshipful Master in 2009. He was my brother in our fraternity, and like an older brother should do, he was always reaching out to give a hand up. I have never met a more; gentle, kind, and caring man. I have again this year been elected to be Worshipful Master of Canal Winchester Lodge # 670 F&AM for the second time and I doubt if I would have ever been anything in our fraternity, other than a member, if it were not for the encouragement I got from Paul. I have been bless to know Paul and he will be constantly remembered and missed.
To his family and friends may we learn that death is but the messenger, sent by the Great Master, to lead us from this imperfect into the all-perfect, glorious and celestial Lodge above, where the Supreme Architect of the Universe presides.
