Paul R Crook's Obituary
Paul R Crook was born on October 28 , 1923 in Asheville, North Carolina to parents Troy and Ruby McEntire Crook. Paul always had a desire to serve his country and entered the Marines at the age of 17 during WWII. He continued his service doing tours all over the Pacific and stayed on as active duty during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. He was an aircraft mechanic and a Gunnery Sergeant. During WWII Paul was present at the EWA US Marines base in Hawaii showing his bravery during the attack on Pearl Harbor and later while the United States was victorious at the Battle of Midway. Following retirement from military duty Paul was a commercial fisherman who also loved to travel. He has been to Alaska, China and the Philippines.
Paul passed away peacefully on March 5, 2021. He is predeceased by his first wife, Roberta Crook and their son Paul Crook Jr. He is also predeceased by his brothers, Dan and Max; sisters, Sue and Glee. Survivors include his wife Violet Crook; natural children, Linda Surrett, Frank Crook (Paula); children, Cindy Wysocki, Doug Taylor(LuAnne), Barry Taylor(Sharon).
