Paula Bertels' Obituary
Celebrating the life of: Paula K Lemon Bertels passed away on February 20 at 6:03 PM surrounded by her family. Paula was an amazing woman who had a heart as big as a house and who treated every single person the same.
Paula was the Manager of an apartment complex in Clearwater when she met Paul in 1986. She was respected and loved by her residents.
Paula was heavily involved with the Clearwater High School Band. She took care of the uniforms and she served two years as President of the Band Boosters. This was all volunteer work and took many hours each week. She did it cheerfully and with love welcoming the students with a “Hi”. Her hi greeting was unique as it was so warm and always accompanied by a big smile.
She was also actively involved with the Girl Scouts of America and helped young girls grow into respectful women.
For the last three years she enjoyed acrylic painting which she shared with fellow artists on a Facebook Artists group and filled the homes of her family with her talent.
Paula is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Paul Bertels, son Scott Hallberg of St Petersburg, daughter Theresa Lang of Port Richey, son Michael Harder (Lisa) of Tarpon Springs, son Matthew Bertels (Brenda Lee) of Dunedin, daughter Lisa French (Jim) of Brooksville, son Andrew Bertels (Chrissy) of Clearwater, daughter Shannon Bertels of Largo.
Paula was a wonderful grandmother to 11 (Austin, Tyler, Cody, John, Sara, Jessica, Marisa, Dylan, Catie, Lucas and Grace) and great grandmother to 6.
Paula is also survived by her siblings Tom Lemon, Dan Lemon, Nancy Walter and Lynda Kirkpatrick.
She is preceded in death by her son Charles Hallberg
