I was with Penn at Ft. Stewart, GA. I remember him being very kind and down to earth. I played soccer with him after duty hours on several occasions. RIP sir.

I remember 'rescuing' him and Perry Scatchetti from a mine field in Bosnia in the winter of 95/96. One exciting time. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all for this loss of a great American and friend. Floyd Werner, CW4, 1-1 Cav, 1AD, USA Retired
Always a smile, always a laugh, always one of the good guys in the group. They say "the good die young." You will live on in our memories.
Although, I met Penn once years ago, I knew him most vicariously through George and Roxanne Holsapple, who always had wonderful reports of his life. What an exemplary person who fought for our country, and I am so grateful for his service. So saddened for his family and daughters. Prayers for him now to be comforted in the arms of Jesus. Love and God bless you all. Prayers for all the family and friends. Joyce McCloskey
I am shocked and saddened to hear of Penn's passing. I will always remember Penn for his uplifting and positive energy, shouting "outstanding!" when he got excited. He was a great man and leader who I am honored to have served with at AASF#2 in Brooksville, FL. Penn, you will be missed brother. You've run your race now rest easy Privateer!
What a great man. My sympathy to family and friends.
I enjoyed when Penn would visit his parents in Greenville SC and we would all sit and talk on the back porch. He was always full of life!
