I just got the news tonight my uncle Peter passed away. I have not seen him in many years but have a sharp vision of him in my mind from childhood. He was very handsome, adventurous and gutzy. I have always admired him and the life he chose. He was a man of the world, a ship captain sailing from Port to port. He was also one of an elite and small group who have sailed the Atlantic solo. The last time I saw him I was in my early twenties. He had a warm, laid back way about him, an mellow ease that was appealing and warm. All of my family and friends have heard about my uncle Peter and the many other amazing members of my family. He did what he loved and lived life on his own terms. Peter has sailed to a new shore. May God bless him and guide him on his new adventure. My heart goes out to my mother, Jean Barnett, Peters only living sibling but I hope she finds solace in his life well lived.
