Priscilla E Shoemaker's Obituary
Priscilla (Griest) Shoemaker passed to life triumphant on March 29, 2015.
She was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She attended Depauw University, Penn State, George Washington University, and Lindenwood College where she received her B.A. in psychology. Priscilla was a career counselor at Richard Montgomery High School, a teacher of the Myers Briggs Personality Type Test, and worked with youths in the juvenile detention system.
She was also active in politics, especially with the Republican Party, was a member of the P.E.O. Organization Chapter CB, and wrote an autobiography detailing her achievements and experiences. Priscilla attended Allendale United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg and served as leader of Naomi Circle, gave many programs, and actively participated in the Women’s Society. She was also a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ocean City, MD.
Priscilla leaves behind her beloved husband of 67 years, Philip Ward Shoemaker; three children, Gary Shoemaker, Karen Payne, and Laura Bradley; five grandchildren, Garrett Shoemaker, Aaron Bradley, Ashley Bradley, Shaun Bradley, Adam Bradley; and one great-grandchild, Star.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm on Friday April 10th at Allendale United Methodist Church. A gathering will be held an hour prior to services from 1 pm to 2 pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice or Allendale UMC.
