Raymond J. Samori's Obituary
Raymond was born on November 18, 1934 in New York City to John And Natalie (Frediani) Samori.A graduate of Cliffside Park High School, he played high school as well as semi-pro baseball and was known for his speed around the bases.Ray proudly served as Staff Sergeant in the U.S Army reserves. He worked for MetLife Insurance Co. for more than 40 years.While raising his family in Northern New Jersey, he enjoyed coaching his sons in soccer and baseball and was a member of the Cliffside Park Baseball Association. He also enjoyed watching his daughter participate in gymnastics and track and field. Renowned as a passionate sports fan, he never missed a Cliffside Park Raider High School football or basketball game.Ray was a devout Catholic and a distinguished member of the Knights of Columbus.After moving to Florida in 1990, he settled in Clearwater where he retired and became an avid traveler. For many years he enjoyed playing softball with the Clearwater Half Century league.Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Pat. He also leaves behind 4 loving children, sons, Raymond and his wife Victoria; John; Michael and his wife Deborah. One daughter, Mary and her husband Rob. And step-daughter, Tracie Armstrong and her husband Keith. He was devoted to his 6 grandchildren, Steven, Andrew, Christopher, Peter, Grace, Claire, and his step-grandson Dane Kelley.Ray and Pat were fortunate to be surrounded by many loving neighbors and friends.A funeral mass will be held on Saturday August, 9th at 10:00 A.M at St. Michael The Archangel, Clearwater, Florida.
