Raymond C. Tolosa Sr.'s Obituary
Raymond was born in La Junta, Colorado. At the age of three, his family moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where his father established the First Mexican Baptist Church. Raymond served in the U.S Army at the end of World War II and served in Tokyo, Japan for four months, driving an Army Jeep as a messenger "boy". Upon arriving home from Japan to Saginaw, he married Ofelia Huerta, whose family was attending his father's church. They married on February 14th, 1950. Ofelia passed away on May 23rd, 2013. Raymond worked at a GM plant in Saginaw for 32 years as a metallurgist/routine chemist.
On August 2nd, 2021, Raymond went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to be reunited with his wife and other family members. Raymond is survived by his daughter Cynthia Davidson (Gene) of Clearwater, FL; four sons, Mark (Tacy) of Houghton Lake, MI; Raymond Jr (Hazel) of South Bend, IN; Clifford (Brenda) of Clearwater, FL; and Timothy (Linda) of Converse, TX; 12 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Esther Ramirez of Clearwater, FL.
Raymond was a loving Godly husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather to everyone in his family. He is our HERO of the faith because of the strong Christian faith and heritage he exemplified to us all. His example of a Christian leader far surpassed many lay people in the many churches where he faithfully attended and served in various capacities such as church treasurer, worship song leader, Sunday school teacher, and deacon.
Raymond's favorite scripture passage was Proverbs 3:5 & 6 "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths."
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 7th at 11:00 AM at the New Testament Baptist Church, 2050 S. Belcher Rd. Largo, FL 33771, with Pastor Matthew Trill officiating. Friends may meet with family at the church one hour prior to the service.
