Reva J. Phillips' Obituary
Reva Joyce Phillips was born on August 16th 1923, and departed this life on June 9th 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband Leroy Phillips, her daughter Nancy Phillips, her son-in-law Wayne Maddox, her grandson Trevor Maddox, and her granddaughter Reva Jo Phillips. She is survived by her daughter Terry Maddox, her son Gary Phillips, her brother John Cope, one grandson, three granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. She was a beautiful, wonderful, and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to a countless number whose lives were touched and enriched by having known and loved her. She watched children in her home when she was younger for many parents who were truly blessed to have her care for their children and she became known as “Mama Reva” to those many children who loved her nearly as much as their own mothers. Later in life she began caring for the elderly, and tirelessly served those less fortunate than herself for many years. Quite a few of the “elderly” that she lovingly cared over the years for were actually much younger than she was. Most important of all, she was a faithful and obedient servant of the Lord, and her life serves as an example to be followed. Over her nearly 93 years in this world, she faithfully worshipped God with an uncountable number of her brothers and sisters in Christ whom she loved dearly with all of her heart. She always had warmth, compassion, and a smile for everyone she encountered. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
