Richard Joseph Gelaznik's Obituary
Richard Joseph Gelaznik, 68, passed away suddenly on February 25th, 2025, at the HCA Florida Largo Hospital. Richard was born April 19th, 1956, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the 3rd of 4 children born to Peter Gelaznik & Mary Collins Gelaznik.
Richard grew up in Pittsfield, attending St. Charles School & St. Joseph High School. He spent his life working as a Union Carpenter in Pittsfield, marrying his wife Christina on August 14th, 2010. In 2014, Richard retired after 30 years of work, and the family moved to Largo, Florida, living life to the fullest, up until his passing.
Richard was a member of the St. Charles Church, the Onota Fishing Club, East Side Men's Club and Ye Mystic Krewe of the Santa Margarita. He enjoyed fishing & boating, and spending time with family & friends. His wife, children, and friends were his entire world. Richard was extremely unique, authentic, and artistic. He was the life of the party & his passion for music was unbelievable - if you knew Rick, AKA " Mick Jagger" you would fully understand!
Rick leaves behind his beloved wife of 14 years Christina Gelaznik, their 3 sons Jesse Gelaznik, Kane Gelaznik & Kyle Gelaznik, and sisters Joanne (Scott) Brace & Linda (Aaron) Flynn. He is preceded in passing by his parents and brother Peter Gelaznik
Rick was one of a kind and will be dearly missed by his beloved family & friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, at the request of the family.
