Rita Vee Martin Thurmond, 81 of Dunedin, Florida, passed on Tuesday, April 5, 2011.She was born in Dunedin to Robert E. Martin and Edna Wynn Martin.Rita graduated from Clearwater High school in 1946. She was "Miss Clearwater High School ". She attended Duke University and graduated as a Medical Technologist.Rita worked for many years in her husband's Medical Practice in Largo.She was an avid traveller and a member of Anona United Methodist Church in Largo.Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John H. Thurmond. She is survived by her sons, John H. Jr. (Cheryl) of Ozona, Fl., Robert "Mart" (Kimm) of Sarasota, Fl.;Five grandchildren, Ron, Marissa, Jessica, John Ross and AlexanderAnd one great-granddaughter.A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8th at 6-8 pm at Moss Feaster Funeral Home Dunedin Chapel, located at 1320 Main Street. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 9th at 2:00 pm. also at Moss Feaster with burial to follow in Dunedin Cemetery.Arrangements under the direction of Moss Feaster Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dunedin, FL.
