Dear Family of Robert, it seems from this photo that this is the same Robert Cossaboom I grew up with in Rye NY. I was thinking of him today and found this sad news of his passing four years ago. I was in the Milton School Boy Scout troop, his dad was the Scoutmaster, and we had many wonderful adventures together at the Camporee at Playland, a weekend at Camp Siwanoy in Wingdale, NY, not far from where we now live in northwest CT. Dear Cossaboom Family,
I was just shocked with the sad news of Bob’s passing. Bob and I had worked together in the DSN Family for nearly thirty years. We first became friends as a couple of junior action officers in the DSN PMO, with a little extra historic tie, as a couple of ex-AF Sergeants. In that thirty years, we worked all the roles together; Govt-Govt, Govt-Contr, and finally Contr-Contr. Bob was an outstanding professional! I always enjoyed working with him, whether it was working on plans/solutions, laughing at the situations we were in, or just shaking our heads at things we would like to change, but were out of our reach. Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

I just learned today about Bob's passing and want to express my deepest sympathy. I wish his family strength. I worked with Bob in Europe and the first thing that comes to mind was his great laugh. I was shocked to hear about Bob. I'm about five tissues in. I worked with Bob for fifteen years at GTE/Dyncorp/CSC; he hired me as an intern and I still fondly remember my interview when I first met him. What a positive, jovial guy he was. I can still hear him laughing. I never got to say goodbye to Bob when he left CSC unceremoniously while I was on vacation. I cried then, too. He was one of my favorite people I ever worked with, and definitely the best boss. I've always missed him and wondered what he was up to. I wish the funeral was closer, I would love to show my respects in person.

Dear Cossaboom Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. I first met Bob when I was the DSN Program Manager. He was the AF’s lead ETS interface to our DSN Program Management Office (PMO). I was immediately impressed with this young Captain who really knew his subject. We were very fortunate to get him to join our DSN PMO in the Washington D.C. area. He, as expected, distinguished himself as he helped us layout the future of the DSN. Later I had the pleasure of working with him on the DSN network management systems at GTE. He added discipline, repeatability and quality to the software development process for that system. He was always fun to debate with and had an excellent sense of humor even in the most trying circumstance. He was the consummate professional and a dear friend. I will miss him.

I just heard this morning that Bob had passed away this morning. I first met Bob when I was stationed at Andrews AFB, MD on telecommunications project. I was getting ready to separate from the Air Force and Bob recommended me for a job with CSC as telecommunications engineer for a DISA contract. He helped change my life as I know it now. Please accept my deepest condolences.
