Robert Stephen Courcy's Obituary
Robert S. “Bob” Courcy of Clearwater, Florida passed away Wednesday morning at Mease Dunedin Hospital in Dunedin, Florida.
He was 67 years old. Bob was born in Taunton, Massachusetts on August 1, 1955, to Rene J. Courcy and Mary M. (Leonard) Courcy.
He was preceded in death by both parents and his sister, Christine M. (Courcy) Burgess formerly of Largo, FL.
Bob grew up in Taunton, MA and moved to Clearwater in 2002. Bob was dedicated to his job as a long-distance ambulance delivery driver. He was employed for many years by two different companies in Orlando, FL. Bob enjoyed fishing, listening to ‘60s + ‘70s music, and enjoying time with friends. He was a loyal Boston sports fan and attended Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002 in New Orleans to watch the Patriots beat the Rams was one of Bob’s all-time favorite memories!
Bob attended Immaculate Conception School (ICS) and Taunton High School in the late-1960s to early-1970s. Bob lived on his own from a young age and faced many challenges in life. Bob overcame lots of adversity and setbacks and managed to make his way through life without any assistance for more than 50 years.
Bob is survived by a sister, Joan (Courcy) Gomes, of Taunton, MA and a brother, Stephen Courcy, of Grand Rapids, MI as well as three nieces, three nephews, and a grandnephew.
Per Bob’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation. Burial will be private.
