ROBERT H. SAVVAS's Obituary
Robert Savvas, a United States Army Veteran, born on August 2, 1924 in Manhattan, New York went to be with our Lord on April 9, 2012. Robert served three years as a Rifleman 725, 2nd Battalion 134th Infantry. He served in Ardennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland. Robert received the following awards and medals while serving in the Army: Combat Infantryman Badge, Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Clover, Army Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, Army Occupation Medal-Germany, WWI Victory Medal, and a National Defense Service Medal. He was a wonderful husband, father, and Papou to his entire family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife Anna, Dunedin, three children: Helene (Michael) McTaggart, Harryette Savas, and Christopher (Monique) Savas, five grandchildren: Kristin (Everett) Hallamek, Cassie (Jamie) Garrison, Amanda Savas, Andrea Savas, and Alecia Savas, and great granddaughter: Madeline Helene Garrison. Robert's visitation will be held on April 16th at Moss Funeral Home, Dunedin at 5-8 pm, and his funeral service will be held on April 17th at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Clearwater, at 11:00am. In Lieu of flowers please send donations, in Robert's honor, to Suncoast Hospice House Brookside, Palm Harbor or Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Clearwater.
