Robert T. Meadows
Best described as an All-American – a family man who cared for all and had a heart of gold – a devout Roman Catholic, hole-in-one golfer with a passion for golf that lasted a lifetime, boater, active volunteer and board member of Friends of the Island Parks at Honeymoon Island.
Bob is survived by his wife of sixty years, Jerrilee “Skip” Meadows, sons Michael, Andy (wife, Carrie), and David along with Bob’s grandchildren Alex, Chase, Marleigh and Jagger.
Bob was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Margaret E. and James R. Meadows, Jr. He grew up in Akron, OH with his brothers Jim (June), Pat (Brenda) and sister Susie (Paul Straits).
While employed as the Director of Staff Development for the Akron Public Schools, he was elected President of the National Staff Development Council (NSDC) with 6,000 members nationwide. After he retired, he became the first President of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio and later moved to Clearwater, FL where he continued his educational consulting.
Bob passed away peacefully at 83 surrounded by his family on March 31, 2022.
