Robert H. Williamson's Obituary
Robert H. Williamson passed away peacefully on December 1, 2020 in Largo, Florida. He was born on October 25, 1928 in Williamson, West Virginia, the son of Texa Everly and Herschel Williamson. He is survived by his sister Mary Latsnic, his wife Sara Williamson and his children Carol (Jack) Zeh, grandson William,(Ashley), grandson Stephen and David (Vicki) Williamson, grandson Shea, granddaughter Jemma, (Rustam) and Rebecca (Walt) Peters, grandson Connor and Robert (Melissa) Williamson, along with great grandchildren Maddison, Jaden and Oliver.
He served in the US Navy from 1945-1947. Robert was a graduate of Penn State University where he met his loving wife of 67 years, Sara. He raised his family in Horseheads, NY where he was an Electrical Engineer at Westinghouse Electric Corporation for 35 years.
Robert and his family worshipped at the First Presbyterian Church in Horseheads, NY where he was a Deacon for many years.
Robert and Sara retired in Spring Hill, Florida in the Timber Pines Retirement Community. Many of their dear and closest friends from Horseheads followed and they lived a very happy retirement life for over 26 years.
He was an avid sportsman, excelling in golf, tennis and bowling. He was also a very passionate Duplicate Bridge player.
Robert had a favorite Irish saying:
May the roads rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sunshine warm your face
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
