Robert J. Witham's Obituary
Robert (Bob) Joseph Witham 81, of Dunedin, FL, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, August 3, 2023. Born May 25, 1942, to Clayton and Catherine Witham of Kansas City, Kansas.
Bob is survived by his wife, Audrey; two sons, Michael Douglas (Tina) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Eric Robert (Lisa) of Minneapolis, MN; grandson Joshua (Kelly) and granddaughter Kristina; sister-in-laws Barbara Ludwig of Roeland Park, KS, and Noni Ludwig of Lake Mary, FL; brother-in-law Richard (Robin) of Kansas City, KS.
Bob graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. He went on to receive his masters in electrical at the University of Tulsa and a masters in business administration at the College of St. Thomas. His first job was in Oklahoma with McDonnell Douglas. Then moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1968 to work with Honeywell. He transferred to Clearwater in 1995 as President of Alliant Tech Systems. After moving to Florida, he knew this was where he wanted to retire so in 1998 Bob retired after 30 years with Honeywell.
Bob was a member of Sports Car Club of America for 36 years. He raced Spec Racer Fords and Formula Fords. He loved playing bridge, golf and operating a ham radio. He enjoyed his HO trains and working on his model railroad. An avid walker, he and Audrey would walk 20 miles a week, with plenty of water and dog treats for all his new friends he met along the way.
Bob is preceded by his first wife and high school sweetheart, Martha and his parents Clayton and Catherine Witham.
