CLEARWATER, FL – Robert S. Wright, 97, of Dunedin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 15 at Westchester Gardens.
Robert (Bob) was born to David and Verna (Holland) Wright on July 18, 1926 in Concord, NH. After high school, Bob enlisted in the US Navy. He was a proud Veteran who served in both World War II and the Korean War. Bob was a skilled tradesman, working as a Welder on a bridge crew and on several road construction companies as a Grade Forman.
On October 28,1950 Bob married the love of his life, Nathalie (Nat) Post. They raised two sons in Concord, NH before moving to Pittsburg, NH in 1971. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed activities like camping, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He was also a proficient woodworker and carpenter and could often be found in this workshop at Lake Francis making creations for Nat to paint.
Bob and Nat moved to Dunedin, FL after retirement. They lived in the Lake Highlander community for 35 years where Bob stayed active playing shuffleboard and joining various other activities. He was a lover of all sports, particularly baseball and Nascar. He and Nat loved to take in a Rays game (particularly when the Red Sox were in town) and visit racetracks and shops around the country. They also loved the beach and spent a great deal of time at Honeymoon Island State Park.
Bob will be remembered by many for his quick wit and sense of humor. You could always count on him for a laugh. He had everyone in stitches, from close friends to his great grandchildren at all times. He was a true family man.
