Roberta "Bert" Lucille Pearce's Obituary
Our beloved “Aunt Bert” went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in
Dunedin, Florida. Roberta Lucille Kinghorn Pearce was born July 11, 1924, in Metz, Vernon,
Missouri to George Albert Kinghorn and Ruby Glady Lyons.
Bert, as she was known to all who loved her, was a dynamic, free-spirited, energetic, and
independent woman. She was adventurous and loved to travel, even traveling solo
internationally into her early 90’s. In her later years, when most women would have fully retired,
she chose to serve the children in her community as a crossing guard. She did this into her late
80s. She loved the children and considered it a highlight of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Marshall Bruce “Blackie” Kinghorn, and
her sister-in-law, Helen Louretta Nurnberg. She is survived by 5 nieces and nephews, 11
grand-nieces and nephews and many great-grand-nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Dunedin, FL, on Thursday, June
27th, 2024, at 10:00AM.
