Russell J. Brown's Obituary
Lance Corporal Russell J. Brown, of St. Petersburg, FL., a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps., GAINED HIS HEAVENLY WINGS on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023,. at the age of 56.
Russell Brown was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico, on October 25th, 1967, at Holloman Air Force Base. Russell is the son of the late Patricia Twiggs Brown and Joseph Brown Jr., Russell grew up in Orlando, Florida graduated from Maynard Evans High School and joined the Marine Corps upon graduation from high school, advancing to the rank of Lance Corporal. Russell traveled the world and while in the service stationed at San Miguel, Philippines met his 1st and true love Angela McMillon.
"Brown" as he liked to be called loved God, his country and was extremely proud to be a Marine. For many years Russell worked as a tire technician. He was also a published author and loved writing poetry. Russell was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. He was known as the light of any room and gave his life to always put others before himself. His love for all kinds of music spoke volumes in his life to everyone who knew him. He was a warm, kind, and compassionate person who had many friends as a result of this. Russell enjoyed the beach; it was his happy place. His presence will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Russell Brown was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Twiggs Brown and was survived by his father Joseph Brown Jr, of Columbia, S.C, his beloved God-daughter Diamond Reese, of Orlando, FL., his devoted 1st and true love Angela McMillon of Shawnee, KS., his brother Andre J. Brown, of Atlanta, GA., his sisters Angel J. Brown Georges (Destin Georges), of Dacula, GA., Kimetta Robinson-Smiley (Kenneth Smiley), of Orlando, Fl., and Claudette Childers, of Orlando, FL., his loving Aunt Vivian Ledwell, of Davenport, FL., his Aunt Bonnye Hall- Crews, of Brandon, FL., his Aunt & Uncle Janice and Louis McCaskill of Quincy, FL., his Uncle Karl Hall, of Texas. His nephew or "little brother" as he would call him Moses Georges, of Dacula, GA., his nephews Jaquan Jones, Drevoisier Brown, and A’mare Brown and his nieces Angelica Brown, La’Dresha Brown, Ceaira Brown and Faith Patricia Georges. Best friend Rhonda Jones and a host of other loving cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Russell will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them - and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him.
Russell will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Celebration of Life Ceremony with military honors will be held at 12:30 on Friday, January 05th, 2024, at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Florida.
