Shirley G Tucker's Obituary
Tucker, Shirley G. 88, a 47 year resident of Island Estates, Clearwater, FL, passed away peacefully at Baycare Alliant Hospital in Dunedin, FL on November 10, 2014, at 6:07 am, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in St. Louis, MO to Francis L. Koch and Grace Moeller on April 30, 1926. She was raised by her father Francis and her stepmother Maude Allen of St.Charles, MO. Her mother and stepfather, William, “Bill”, Larkin were also a part of her life especially in their later years. Shirley graduated from St. Charles High School in St. Charles, MO then traveled via train (standing the entire trip because there were no available seats) to marry her high school sweetheart in CA where he was first stationed during WWII. After the war, they both traveled back to MO then to MN, and GA before moving to FL in 1967. Along with her husband Orville, they owned Tucker Piano and Organ with locations in Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and New Port Richey. She loved her family and friends. She greatly enjoyed nature and animals, picnics, good food, good movies, and traveling. She is predeceased by her parents and her high school sweetheart and loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Orville M. Tucker Sr. (1925-2008); her brothers Gene Koch of St. Louis, MO and William, “Willie”, Holtgrieve of St. Charles, MO. She is survived by her brother Donald, “Don”, Holtgrieve of St. Charles, MO and her sister June Baught of Prairie Village, KS ; her 6 children, Orville M.,”Skip”, Tucker, Jr., Sandra K. Soules, Marla S. Tucker, Debra J. O’Regan, James R. Tucker, and Jody L. Almendarez; and her 7 grandchildren, Kevin, Tiffany, Houston, Nicole, Summer, Kaleb, and Kelby. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 22,2014 at: Chapel By the Sea at 54 Bay Esplanade, Clearwater, Florida 33767 at 11:00 a.m. (727) 446-0430.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her name at: American Cancer Society, Pediatric Cancer Foundation, and Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
