Sending out some loving thoughts to the family of Sid Crawford. I did not know he had passed. I did not know Sid well. I do remember how good looking he was as a young man. I was closer to his sister, Susan. I remember visiting the Crawford home many times. Dinners there were always good. I especially remember hamburgers. They were the best !!! ~Cynthia Craig Shear~
A true gentleman in so many ways.
I have many fond memories of counting shorebirds and seabirds on Three Rooker and Honeymoon islands with Sid. He was passionate about protecting beach-nesting birds from disturbance and educating island visitors about nesting biology of each species. He will be missed by birds and people alike.
I traveled with Sid and the Clearwater Audubon Society t RIPo Israel several years ago and as a newbie to birding I greatly appreciated his willingness to share his extensive knowledge and his wry sense of humor. Lynn Crippen
So sorry to hear the sad news....the birding community lost one of the best..... He helped me find the Spotted Owl on our last AZ trip.....encouraging the group "to keep climbing.....it was further up the mountain".....and we did and got great looks at the beautiful owl......condolences to the Crawford family..... He sure loved the Bog in Minnesota.....
