Sidney Dale Goodwin's Obituary
Sidney Dale Goodwin, 71, of Dunedin, Florida, and Gap Mills, WV (formerly of Oceana, WV) went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 21, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 4, 1942 in Logan, WV. Sid was a retired employee of Eastern Associated Coal Corporation Kopperston II mines and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Clearwater. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the mountains and sharing those loves with his family. Left to carry on his legacy of strong family values and love of the beautiful outdoors are his wife Geraldine of 48 years; his children Cindy (John) Lavezzo, Pam (Eric) Tobias, and Dale (Carmen) Goodwin whom all reside in Florida except when they can return home to the beautiful mountains of WV. His ten grandchildren Kalie, Resha, Nick, Kortney, Jordan, Derek, Jakob, Ellie, Alyssa, and grandson due on September 3; four great grandchildren Haley, Jasmine, Amiya, and Jahsiah with whom he took pride in spending many hours teaching and sharing his values and abundance of knowledge. He was predeceased by his father Boots Logan Goodwin, mother Orphia Mary Noe; sisters Ellilouise Goodwin, and Garnell Sheppard, and a brother Calvin Goodwin. Survived by his brother Joe Goodwin and sisters Garnett Lusk and Midge Hicks all of Oceana, and a host of nieces and nephews. A t . In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated.
